Tyler Owen's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, particularly for clients in the health care and aerospace industries. He has significant experience with legal research, internal investigations, discovery, motions practice, and brief writing.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, Tyler served as a law clerk for judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Throughout these clerkships, Tyler gained experience in a wide array of civil and criminal matters, from securities litigation, to sprawling drug-conspiracy prosecutions, to challenges brought by state governments against federal executive action, among many others.
Tyler maintains an active pro bono practice, which at Jones Day has included litigation involving First Amendment and immigration-related matters. While in law school, Tyler volunteered in the Federal Appellate Litigation Clinic, where he participated in criminal matters before all three levels of the federal judiciary, including merits briefing and an oral argument before the Sixth Circuit.
