Emily Brandes Sawers represents public and private companies in significant domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, carve-out divestitures, and dispositions. She also counsels clients on general corporate governance matters. She works with clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, specialty chemicals, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, health care, and technology.
Emily has advised clients on a variety of transactions, including Eastman Chemical's $1 billion sale of its adhesive resins business to Synthomer; Cleveland-Cliffs' $1.1 billion acquisition of AK Steel; and PolyOne's $775 million sale of its Performance Products and Solutions business to SK Capital. Other companies with which she has worked on matters include Cargill, General Mills, Polaris, Timken, Procter & Gamble, and Sensata Technologies.
