Sarah Welch's practice focuses on appellate advocacy and dispositive motions. She has drafted briefs in matters at every level of federal and state courts.

Sarah also maintains an active pro bono practice. She has argued appeals in the Sixth and Seventh Circuits, and she has filed pro bono briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court and the Second, Fourth, Sixth, and Seventh Circuits. Sarah also serves on the case-writing committees for Ohio's high school mock trial and moot court competitions.

Before joining Jones Day, Sarah served as a law clerk to Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh of the Supreme Court of the United States, Chief Judge William H. Pryor Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
