Sherwin-Williams summary judgment win in St. Louis lead paint case is affirmed by Missouri Supreme Court

Client(s) Sherwin-Williams Company, The

Jones Day represented The Sherwin-Williams Company in connection with a lawsuit brought by the city of St. Louis against the lead paint industry for injunctive relief and damages associated with past and future abatement of lead paint. The Missouri Supreme Court affirmed the summary judgment entered for Sherwin-Williams and other defendants, holding that the city could not rely on historic community-wide marketing to prove injury causation in a public nuisance action.
