Working with the Los Angeles Community Action Network, Jones Day wins trial for pro bono client

On December 17, new associate Doug Lawson made his first court appearance alongside Dan Lynch on behalf of a homeless man who had been cited several times for jaywalking.  Although the officer who had issued the tickets proudly “refused to negotiate,” at trial we persuaded the judge that, given our client’s exigent circumstances, the tickets should be dismissed in the interests of justice.
