Phoenix Children's Hospital forms clinically integrated pediatric provider network
Client(s) Phoenix Children's Hospital
Jones Day advised Phoenix Children's Hospital, one of the 10 largest children's hospitals in the nation, and Arizona's only dedicated pediatric hospital, in connection with the formation of Phoenix Children's Care Network ("PCCN"), a clinically integrated network of pediatric specialists, subspecialists and institutional providers in Maricopa County and surrounding areas of Arizona.
PCCN was formed to develop, implement and operate a program of clinical and financial integration designed to promote greater accountability for the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of health care services delivered to pediatric patients. By developing and enforcing clinical guidelines, performance standards and metrics, aligning the financial incentives of participants in the clinically integrated network, and fostering a high degree of interdependence and cooperation among health care providers, PCCN will offer managed care plans, self-insured employer groups and other health care payors a network of pediatric providers that is able to satisfy the "triple aim" of improving the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improving the health of populations, and reducing the per capita cost of health care.
