CSXT seeks advice regarding claims and NTSB investigation arising from derailment following grade crossing accident

Client(s) CSX Transportation, Inc.

Jones Day represents CSX Transportation, Inc. ("CSXT") in connection with a railroad crossing accident that occurred in a mixed industrial residential area in Baltimore, Maryland. On May 28, 2013, a CSXT train derailed after a truck failed to stop at the crossing and collided with the train. The train consisted of several locomotives and multiple cars, and the derailment resulted in an explosion and fire. Jones Day represented CSXT in the National Transportation Safety Board's investigation of the derailment, and provided advice regarding the various claims that were filed as a result of the accident.
