Jones Day successfully resolved a suit for the return of an abducted child in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas on behalf of our client, a citizen of Bermuda.

From the time of the child's birth, our client had always lived with her daughter in Bermuda. In late 2012, our client brought her ten-year-old daughter to the United States to temporarily live with the child's father while our client moved to a new apartment. When the father refused to return the child to Bermuda, Jones Day filed suit. After a show cause hearing and expedited discovery, the father ultimately agreed to return the child to her mother. Mother and child were recently reunited after almost a year.
