Jones Day successfully defended Twilio Inc. against patent infringement claims brought by Pivital IP in the District of Delaware, invalidating all asserted claims and obtaining a complete dismissal with prejudice. Arguing before Chief Judge Stark in Delaware's first telephonic "Section 101 Day" due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jones Day prevailed on a motion to dismiss challenging the asserted patent claims as ineligible for patent protection.
