Verizon California defeats class certification in California wage and hour class action
Client(s) Verizon Communications, Inc.
Jones Day represented Verizon California in a wage and hour class action in which the plaintiff alleged that he was misclassified as exempt from California overtime requirements and sought to certify a class of Verizon California's first level FiOS supervisors on the basis of his California Labor Code and California Business & Professional Code claims under Fed. R. Civ. P. 23. On January 3, 2012, the court denied Plaintiff's motion for class certification in its entirety.
