Charlotte Breuvart focuses her practice on European, French, and Belgian antitrust and competition law. She has over 20 years of experience in cartels, abuses of dominance, merger control, and State aids. In 2012, Charlotte contributed to obtaining the largest ever fine reduction granted by the European courts in a cartel case. She is recognized as a leading practitioner in antitrust and competition law by independent legal directories and is one of five women partners who were elected as "Shining Stars" in the Private Practice section of W@Competition's Five Star Professionals Survey, Brussels Bubble (October 2021). She is the administrative partner in the Brussels Office.
Charlotte advises French, Belgian, and international companies in a range of industries, with a focus on the energy sector. She has been involved in high-profile antitrust and State aid cases before the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union as well as in complex merger filings. She has participated in leniency applications and commitments procedures and helped design and implement antitrust compliance programs.
In 2022, Charlotte was appointed co-chair of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Task Force on Antitrust Compliance Policy Harmonization. Since 2024, she has been a member of the board of directors of the Association des Avocats Pratiquant le Droit de la concurrence (APDC) in France, and she also serves as a Non-Governmental Advisor (NGA) to the New Caledonian Competition Authority.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Charlotte was the resident partner-in-charge of the Brussels antitrust practice of an international law firm. She also served as a senior antitrust in-house counsel at EDF and practiced in the Paris and Washington, D.C. offices of another international law firm.
