Carol Starnes focuses her practice on M&A and advises public and private companies on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Carol frequently advises companies on corporate governance and fiduciary matters, including board education, takeover preparedness, shareholder activism, and board self-assessments. She also represents early and growth stage companies during formation and financing transactions.

Carol's recent representations include Roper Technologies, Helios Technologies, Flowers Foods, Husqvarna, and the Southern Company.

Before attending law school, Carol taught school for two years in the Mississippi Delta through Teach For America.
