Brett Wierenga focuses his practice on appellate advocacy and motions practice for clients in complex civil litigation, on matters of constitutional law, bankruptcy, and contracts.
Brett has drafted or assisted with briefs in state and federal trial and appeals courts at most stages of litigation, including preliminary injunctive relief, dispositive motions, pretrial motions, and appeals. Brett maintains an active pro bono practice, including immigration, habeas, and child custody matters, and he has stand-up experience advocating for pro bono clients at trial.
Before joining Jones Day, Brett served as a judicial law clerk on the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Ninth Circuits.
