GM successfully defeats RICO claims brought by dealer in 4th Circuit Court of Appeals

Jones Day represented General Motors Corporation in a lawsuit against GMAC and GM seeking damages for RICO claims related to plaintiff's dealership operations. Plaintiff alleged RICO violations in connection with plaintiff's ownership in a new motor vehicle dealership. The defendants moved to dismiss the complaint. The United States District Court dismissed the Complaint and denied other motions the plaintiff filed. After the plaintiff appealed, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit affirmed the dismissal in a decision dated July 27, 2009.
