sanofi-aventis wins unanimous jury verdict in Arava antitrust litigation

Jones Day defended sanofi-aventis in an antitrust jury trial involving the claims of a class of drug wholesalers that sanofi had unlawfully blocked generic competition for its rheumatoid arthritis drug Arava. The jury unanimously vindicated sanofi-aventis’s filing of a Citizen Petition before the Food and Drug Administration in relation to Abbreviated New Drug Applications for the rheumatoid arthritis medication leflunomide.
