LAUSD wins trial establishing notice sufficient to terminate contractor for cause

Client(s) Los Angeles Unified School District

Jones Day won a five week trial for Los Angeles Unified School District involving termination for cause of a contractor responsible for constructing two new schools. The contractor claimed that the District failed to provide adequate notice and an opportunity to cure and that the termination was therefore wrongful. The termination was determined to be proper under the contract and under the law.
