Cricket Communications defends trade secret and copyright lawsuit

Client(s) Cricket Communications, Inc. and Leap Wireless International

Jones Day defended Cricket Communications, Inc. and Leap Wireless International, Inc. in this global dispute over source code and hardware design for cell phones. Korean plaintiff M Seven System Limited sued San Diego-based Cricket Communications and others in federal court for trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement, violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the California penal code, and related claims. Jones Day secured dismissal of Leap Wireless as a defendant, and Cricket Communications subsequently settled with M Seven System.
