Jones Day represented a U.S. construction company in an international arbitration conducted under the Rules of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes against the Republic of Panama. The dispute included nine separate state infrastructure projects awarded to our client in Panama, totaling more than US$100 million, and governed by two treaties: the United States-Panama Bilateral Investment Treaty and the Trade Promotion Agreement. The final award was issued in October 2022.
