Tenants secure settlement payment in lawsuit alleging fraudulent transfer of property and landlord misconduct

Jones Day secured a settlement payment on behalf of two pro bono clients in connection with a Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit filed against the clients' former landlords and their daughter. The lawsuit included claims for retaliatory eviction, trespass, and fraudulent transfer of two of the landlords' properties to their daughter. After participating in a mediation, the defendants agreed to make a confidential settlement payment to resolve the action.
