SHEnB resolves patent infringement claims brought at the ITC involving skin treatment devices

Jones Day was lead counsel defending Sung Hwan E&B Co., Ltd. ("SHEnB"), a Korean manufacturer of medical devices for the health & beauty industry, and two of its distributors against patent infringement claims brought by Serendia, LLC before the International Trade Commission. Complainant alleged that certain skin treatment devices imported and sold in the United States infringe six patents owned by Serendia. During trial, but after Jones Day had delivered the opening statements and cross examined Serendia’s technical experts, the parties settled the case. Jones Day also represented all three defendants in separate but related patent cases in Texas, Arizona, and New York district courts.
