EDF and Abraxas Power announce strategic partnership

Jones Day advised EDF (Electricité de France) in its joint venture with Abraxas Power Corp., a leading energy transition developer to develop a 3+ Gigawatts (GW) green hydrogen (from onshore wind) and green ammonia production in Central Newfoundland, Canada. EDF and Abraxas will jointly develop the Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation (EVREC) a power-to-X (P2X) project which anticipates generating ~200,000 tons of green hydrogen and ~1,000,000 tons of green ammonia annually. EVREC aims to have its own dedicated port infrastructure to export its products to global markets.
