Emma Carson represents clients in complex commercial litigation disputes, at both the state and federal levels, involving breach of contract claims, business torts, and construction disputes. She has experience conducting discovery, assisting in the preparation of lay and expert witnesses for deposition and trial, drafting motions for summary judgment and mediation statements, and participating in settlement negotiations.
Emma has represented clients in the public and private sectors, including institutions of higher education, health care organizations, construction companies, and steel manufacturers. Emma also maintains an active insurance recovery practice, wherein she represents corporate policyholders in claim and allocation disputes with their insurers. She is also a member of the Firm's AVAIR initiative, which provides key alerts and commentaries to keep clients apprised of developments in the autonomous vehicle arena.
Emma actively participates in Jones Day's pro se ADR Program in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where she has helped pro se litigants navigate alternative dispute resolutions with correctional facilities. In addition, she has conducted investigations involving allegations of police misconduct and assists veterans with military discharge upgrades and Veterans Affairs (VA) claims.
