Steve Geise is a nationally recognized first-chair trial lawyer who focuses on representing companies in high-stakes cases.
Steve has tried dozens of cases and has won defense verdicts coast to coast in federal and state courts. Steve's team secured a defense verdict for Celgene Corporation in Pikeville, Kentucky, defeating a multibillion dollar fraud claim by Humana over off-label prescriptions of Thalomid® and Revlimid®. In 2021, Steve delivered a win for R.J. Reynolds in Portland, Oregon that was one of the first in-person, jury trials during the COVID pandemic. In 2017, he led a team that secured a defense verdict in a Bay Area trial that earned the Daily Journal's "Top Defense Verdict Award." His continued success on behalf of the Firm's clients led the Daily Journal to recognize him as one the 100 "Leading Commercial Litigators" in the United States in 2024.
Steve represents manufacturers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, opioids, and other consumer goods in all phases of individual and class action litigation. He is currently representing a fluorochemical manufacturer in an MDL (multidistrict litigation) related to PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and AFFF (aqueous film-forming foam) exposure as well as a former distributor of the herbicide paraquat in hundreds of personal injury cases around the country.
Steve is Partner-in-Charge of the San Diego Office and also serves as the office's head of litigation. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Master in the Welsh Inn of Court.
