Robert Hart represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters and internal and government investigations.
Robert has served as the lead associate on numerous investigations for companies facing criminal, civil, and regulatory compliance issues, including government investigations brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Robert has investigated and defended alleged violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), as well as allegations of procurement fraud, public corruption, forced labor in corporate supply chains, and a hostile work environment and other employee misconduct.
In addition to his investigations experience, Robert has extensive experience representing clients in a wide range of civil lawsuits, including cases involving business- and employment-related torts, products liability, and litigation brought pursuant to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Robert's diverse litigation experience includes briefing and motions practice in state and federal courts, fact development and investigation, depositions, and witness preparation.
Robert maintains an active pro bono practice, representing refugees seeking asylum in the United States and participating in the Firm's anti-human trafficking initiatives. Robert recently worked with other members of the Firm's LGBTQ+ Affinity Group to write a brief on behalf of a trans woman seeking asylum in the United States.
