Carl Kukkonen ist seit fast 20 Jahren vor allem im Bereich der strategischen IP-Beratung tätig, dies schließt die Beratung bei Patentverletzungs- und Nichtigkeitsverfahren ein sowie die Vorbereitung und Durchsetzung von Patentanmeldungen, die Beratung bei U.S. und internationalen Markenanmeldungen, Markenstrategien oder Markenrechts- und Urheberrechtsverletzungen sowie in Domain-Namen-Streitigkeiten. Herr Kukkonen hat bereits zahlreiche IP-Audits und Due-Diligence-Untersuchungen für Unternehmen und Investoren bei M&A-Transaktionen oder Börsengängen durchgeführt.

Darüberhinaus verfügt Herr Kukkonen über umfangreiche Kenntnisse in der Strukturierung und Verhandlung von Unternehmens- und Technologietransaktionen. Dies beinhaltet auch die Erstellung von Lizenz-, Kauf- und Entwicklungsverträgen oder anderen Kooperationsvereinbarungen.

Er führte zahleiche Patentanmeldeverfahren im Auftrag von individuellen Erfindern oder multinationalen Konzernen im Bereich Hochtechnologie/Software, Medizintechnik und Energie durch. Seine Expertise im Bereich Hochtechnologie beinhaltet Datenbanktechnologie, Computer- und Netzsicherheit, Künstliche Intelligenz, Unternehmens-Software, Cloud-Computing, Big Data, Blockchains, Mobilfunk-Soft- und Hardware, In-Orbit-Tests, Halbleiter, Telekommunikation, Nanotechnologie, optische Geräte, Computer- und Mikrochips sowie Signal- und Bildbearbeitung.

Im Bereich Medizintechnik umfassten die von ihm bearbeiteten Mandate Vorrichtungen zur Medikamentenabgabe, die Anwendung des Mobilfunks auf dem Gesundheitsmarkt, das digitale Gesundheitswesen, Patientenmonitore, Inkubatoren, Infusionspumpen, physiologische Sensoren einschließlich Kardiomonitore und Blutdruckmessgeräte, optische Technologien und Geräte zur Knochenfixierung.
