Igor Magalhães represents public and private companies in complex business transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, and other strategic transactions, with a primary focus on the energy sector.
Igor has extensive experience in foreign policy analysis and government relations. Before joining Jones Day, he worked with leading think tanks, state agencies, and legislative offices and served as a Brumley Graduate Fellow at the Strauss Center for International Security and Law during his graduate studies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
Outside of his legal practice, Igor is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Vinicius "Draculino" Magalhães.
