Daniele San Román represents clients in high-stakes intellectual property matters before U.S. district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, with a focus on life sciences patent and trade secret litigation.

With the experience of several trials, including multiple jury trials, Daniele is knowledgeable in all phases of litigation. Her litigation experience includes analyzing patent portfolios for assertion; formulating claim construction, infringement, and validity positions; drafting discovery requests and responses; managing fact discovery; working with technical experts; preparing fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial; drafting the full range of motions, briefs, and submissions throughout the stages of a patent case; and preparing molecular models and other trial exhibits. Daniele has also participated in several Federal Circuit appeals. Her practice, while focusing on life sciences, encompasses various technical fields, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, materials manufacturing, and software devices.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Daniele clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and she also obtained private practice experience in patent litigation.
