Paloma Valor has more than 30 years of experience in compliance, complex transactions involving information technology (IT) (including IP Licensing, consulting, and outsourcing), mergers, acquisitions and divestitures both as independent transactions and as part of corporate restructurings, and disputes. During her career, she has served as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the businesses she has served, assisting companies, boards, directors, and management in high-stakes legal and compliance matters.
Paloma has extensive experience in compliance risk assessments, fraud prevention, the development of policies and programs to address and mitigate those risks, and the implementation and digitalization of compliance programs. She also has led multi-year Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations before the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition, she counsels on how to respond to particular regional or geographical challenges, internal investigations, M&A transactions, go-to-market strategies, and other corporate policies and processes to foster accountability and enhance a culture of integrity.
Paloma also has in-depth knowledge of IT products and services, including international experience in emerging markets such as Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and particularly China.
Paloma is a regular speaker on internal investigations, ethics and compliance, and corporate culture.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2022, she served as chief trust and compliance officer at a Fortune 500 publicly traded multinational company in the IT industry.
