Dr. Johannes Zöttl berät im deutschen und europäischen Kartellrecht, von der Struktur- und Vertragsgestaltung (Artikel 101 AEUV) über Fragen des Marktmachtmissbrauchs (Artikel 102 AEUV) bis hin zur Fusionskontrolle vor Bundeskartellamt und Europäischer Kommission; hierbei gehören die Vertretung und Verteidigung vor Kartellbehörden und die eng mit kaufmännischen Parametern verzahnte Beratung zur Vertikal-GVO zu seinen Spezialgebieten.

Ferner befasst sich Dr. Zöttl vielfältig mit kartellrechtlich geprägten Schnittstellenthemen, etwa im Bereich der Compliance-Beratung und in Bezug auf IP. Hier berät Dr. Zöttl insbesondere auch zur Compliance unter der neuen EU-Verordnung zu drittstaatlichen Subventionen (FSR).

Dr. Zöttl veröffentlicht regelmäßig in Fachzeitschriften und Zeitungen. Er ist Mitglied der Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V., der American Bar Association, Section of Antitrust Law, und ist Non-Governmental Advisor der ICN Unilateral Conduct Working Group (UCWG). Dr. Zöttl war einziges deutsches Mitglied der International Task Force der ABA Antitrust Section (2007/2008) und Vice Chair des Unilateral Conduct Committee (2008-2014) und des Global Private Litigation Committee (2018-2021).
