Julian Bailey will join Jones Day's Global Disputes Practice in London
Julian Bailey will join the Firm as a partner in the Global Disputes Practice, based in London.
Mr. Bailey advises clients on international construction and infrastructure projects across a variety of industries, including transportation, oil and gas, energy (including renewables), industrial, health care, and insurance. He has played a lead role as counsel to clients in disputes on most continents, representing sovereign governments, developers, and contractors in complex large-scale matters.
At Jones Day, Mr. Bailey joins an integrated team of more than 200 Global Disputes lawyers, located in more than 25 business centers worldwide, who advise clients on how to successfully resolve high-value business disputes wherever they arise around the globe. He will work alongside his Jones Day colleagues to help clients with both project advisory issues and disputes litigation in some of the most challenging jurisdictions in the world.

Mr. Bailey is a former chairman of the Society of Construction Law in the UK, the leading industry body for construction law, and he is the author of a three-volume treatise on construction law as it applies in England, Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore, with an international outlook. He was lauded by Chambers UK 2023 for having "wide expertise in the industry" and that he "brings with him an impeccable commercial acumen" and by Legal 500 UK 2022 for having "proven time and again to be a reliable expert on all matters of construction law." He is one of nine solicitors in England ranked in Who's Who Legal's "Thought Leaders-Global Elite" 2023 guide for construction.

Mr. Bailey earned both his bachelor of laws degree and his bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Adelaide. He also earned a graduate certificate in legal practice from the University of South Australia.
