Holding company defends shareholders' disputes over highway projects

Jones Day represented a holding company in shareholders' disputes valued at about HKD 1.1 billion involving two highway projects in Hunan and Hubei provinces, respectively. The plaintiff sued our client in Hong Kong high court, but our client challenged the jurisdiction. The judge granted our client's request to stay Hong Kong court proceedings to arbitration, and the plaintiff was ordered to pay attorneys' fees.
