In his more than 20 years of experience, Vishal Khatri has leveraged IP to add billions of dollars of value to clients' businesses. Whether litigating patents with marketplace competitors or developing strategic patent portfolios worldwide, clients value Vishal's ability to develop creative strategies toward achieving business objectives. Many of the hundreds of U.S. and international patents (including design patents) Vishal has obtained for clients have been successfully litigated, licensed, or sold. Vishal is the IP practice coordinator for the Washington Office.

With a keen understanding of the continually changing technological landscape and the need for corporations to quickly adapt to industry pressures, Vishal combines his litigation and counseling experience to convert practical advice into successful outcomes. He has successfully represented some of the largest tech companies in the world in patent litigation disputes in U.S. district courts, the U.S International Trade Commission (ITC), and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings. Vishal also counsels clients on joint development and licensing transactions, litigation avoidance strategies, and IP due diligence in connection with product launch, financing, acquisition, and public offering transactions.

Vishal represents clients from start-ups to large multinational companies in a diverse range of industries, including wireless communications (WiFi, 4G, and 5G), mobile device technologies, GPS, databases, cryptography, fintech, blockchain, memory devices, LEDs, television transmission and display, digital video encoding, semiconductor fabrication and packaging, device networking, artificial intelligence (AI), medical devices, optics, consumer electronics, automotive technologies, and personal care products.

Prior to his legal career, Vishal designed power plants, developed software, and worked with wireless carriers to optimize their cellular networks.
