Mauricio Paez proporciona asesoramiento en privacidad y protección de datos, propiedad intelectual y operaciones comerciales en el sector tecnológico, así como en cuestiones de aprovisionamiento estratégico y outsourcing. Asimismo, asesora a clientes en la adquisición y disposición de activos tecnológicos y derechos de propiedad intelectual a nivel global.
Como co-director de la práctica global de privacidad de la firma, asesora a empresas incluidas en Fortune 100 en todos los aspectos relacionados con la privacidad y sistemas de gestión de seguridad de la información.
A menudo colabora con los clientes en el desarrollo y puesta en marcha de políticas y programas de cumplimiento relacionados con el manejo y protección de información corporativa, mantenimiento e intercambio de información entre empleado y cliente, y regulación de transferencia de datos con terceras partes. Mauricio lleva a cabo auditorías de valoración de datos y sistemas de seguridad de la información ayudando a los clientes a responder a incidentes de seguridad de datos a nivel global. También asesora a los clientes en derecho estadounidense (GLB, HIPPA, COPPA,CAM-SPAM, FCRA/FACTA, y otras cuestiones relacionadas con el incumplimiento de la seguridad en la notificación de datos), así como en el cumplimiento de la ley de protección de datos en otras jurisdicciones (Canadá, Europa, América Latina y Asia).
Su práctica también se centra en acuerdos de aprovisionamiento multijurisdiccional y outsourcing. El papel de Mauricio en estos casos va desde el asesoramiento en la petición de propuestas, negociaciones con múltiples vendedores, el establecimiento de negocios en el extranjero, aprovisionamiento de asociaciones y operaciones de outsourcing multijurisdiccionales.
Mauricio es miembro de los siguientes colegios de abogados: American Bar Association, Hispanic National Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, y Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
