Paddy Clark counsels clients on contentious and noncontentious matters, with a particular focus on litigation and regulatory investigations faced by the Firm's financial institution clients. His practice primarily focuses on advising on corporate governance and on defending financial institutions and their most senior executives and directors from regulatory actions, investigations, and litigation. His experience also includes representing clients in high-stakes, strategic commercial disputes across a range of other industry sectors such as technology, energy, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and resources.
Paddy's recent experience includes acting for the directors and executives of several major financial institutions in investigations and enforcement actions; acting for a foreign pension fund in various distressed investments in the United States; acting for a broker-dealer in a series of disputes and regulatory investigations related to the sale of distressed financial products; and acting for several corporations in cross-border disputes related to M&A transactions. Paddy also advises clients on litigation risks flowing from ESG (environmental, social, and governance) disclosures, and he has published a number of articles on these issues.
Paddy is an active contributor to Jones Day's pro bono efforts, particularly in the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking and representing migrants in asylum proceedings through Jones Day's Border Project.
