Christina H.Hightower

Christina Hightower represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts, including disputes involving breach of contract, fraudulent transfer, and breach of fiduciary duty. Her practice covers evaluating claims and legal issues, managing teams to develop facts and evidence, working closely with expert witnesses, drafting motions and briefs in the trial and appellate courts, taking and defending dispositive depositions, and preparing for trial. Christina has served clients in a variety of areas, including space exploration, construction, commercial real estate, energy, and shareholder disputes. Christina has argued in Texas federal and state district courts and in the Houston Court of Appeals.

In addition, Christina has experience in bankruptcy litigation representing creditors during the investigation, claim, and fact development stage of bankruptcy actions, including in one of the biggest bankruptcy settlements in U.S. history.

Christina also served as in-house counsel for a publicly traded development company of a multibillion dollar project in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) pipeline and terminal industry. During this time she gained in-depth knowledge in the LNG space and in matters regarding corporate governance, internal regulatory compliance, contract formation, and company advisement. She also has experience evaluating and negotiating land contracts, joint development contracts, and long-term service, consulting, and financing agreements. Christina understands client priorities and the importance of business decisions in evaluating legal documents, and her in-house background gives her a unique and invaluable perspective in evaluating deals and corporate governance matters.

Christina also has been involved in pro bono work that includes representing two clients seeking asylum and clients seeking to protect their freedom of expression in public schools.
