Simone Hussussian assists health care industry stakeholders with regulatory compliance, enforcement, and transactional matters. She represents hospitals and health systems, specialty providers, physician groups, digital health companies, and health care investors.
Simone's regulatory compliance experience includes advising clients with regard to federal and state fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and beneficiary inducement prohibitions. She has experience defending health care clients in False Claims Act and other enforcement actions brought by the United States Department of Justice, Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, Office of Personnel Management, and Drug Enforcement Administration as well as state attorneys general and state regulators. Simone also counsels health care clients on operational matters, such as licensure and reimbursement.
Simone also has advised health care clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including health system mergers and acquisitions, professional practice management alignments, and joint ventures.
After law school, Simone worked as a law clerk at a nationwide primary care provider. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys.
