Dustin Lorenzo focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts across a variety of industries. He has particular experience defending clients in the health care industry facing qui tam claims under the False Claims Act (FCA) and state equivalents, including matters involving the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS). He also has experience representing a financial institution trustee in significant cases brought by investors in mortgage-backed securities.
Dustin services clients at every stage of litigation. At the trial stage, he regularly drafts dispositive and other critical motions and also engages in fact and expert discovery. At the appellate stage, he has drafted briefs for clients across multiple federal courts of appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court, often working with lawyers in the Firm's Issues & Appeals Practice. Dustin also maintains an active pro bono practice, including criminal appeals and immigration matters.
Before joining Jones Day, Dustin served as a judicial law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
