Juana San Martin represents corporations and individuals in high-stakes complex litigation. Her practice focuses on cases involving product liability, public nuisance, contracts, consumer class actions, health care, and business torts. She has worked extensively on cases brought by federal and state prosecutors, as well as on nationwide investigations. Juana is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including fact investigation, drafting and responding to discovery, e-discovery (including overseeing multistate document reviews and production), depositions, dispositive motion practice, and trial.
Recently, Juana defended a major retailer in hundreds of cases brought by state and municipal governments across the country alleging that the distribution and sale of prescription opioids constitutes a public nuisance. In addition to overseeing several of these matters across all stages of discovery, Juana served on a trial team defending the retailer in state court.
Juana is committed to public service and serving pro bono clients. She has experience representing clients from Central American countries seeking asylum in the United States, especially individuals seeking refuge based upon political opinion or membership in a particular social group. She also serves on Los Angeles County Bar Association's Barristers/Young Attorneys Section.
