Kristen Smith's practice focuses on complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience in various stages of litigation, including developing case strategy, factual investigation, drafting pleadings, fact discovery, preparing witnesses for depositions, and mediation. She also has served as lead counsel in multiple matters arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
Kristen maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting individuals seeking asylum in the United States through the Firm's Border Project, obtaining restraining orders for survivors of domestic violence, and representing an international client under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
Prior to law school, Kristen worked in human resources (HR) and labor relations in the oil and gas and aviation industries, where she provided strategic HR leadership in both unionized and non-union manufacturing environments.
