Steve Taylor's practice focuses on energy transactions with a particular emphasis on acquisitions and divestures in the upstream sector.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2024, Steve represented numerous energy investment partners in multibillion dollar deals involving mineral and royalty interests. He also worked on a groundbreaking partnership that connected the world's largest biofuel producer with the world's largest carbon capture and storage project, which facilitates the capture, transportation, and permanent storage of 4.7 million metric tons of CO2 annually from 17 bioprocessing plants.
Steve is also a certified professional landman who began his career as a field landman serving clients in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. He later worked with private investors to acquire and manage minerals, royalties, and non-operated working interests in Northwest Louisiana.
Steve is committed to pro bono service and worked with The Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture (now, The School of Architecture) in its separation from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, resulting in its move from Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona to the Cosanti and Arcosanti sites in Arizona that use the concept of blending architecture and ecology.
