Andrew Clopton's practice focuses on high-stakes litigation, dispositive motions, and appeals. He has particular experience in employment litigation, business and toxic tort litigation, shareholder and derivative litigation, constitutional litigation, and class actions. And he has experience across a variety of industries, including hospitality, higher education, automotive, aviation, health care, and financial services.

Andrew has represented clients in jurisdictions around the country, and at all three levels of the federal judiciary, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He has played a primary role in drafting numerous successful dispositive motions and appellate briefs on issues ranging from sovereign immunity to agency liability under Title VII.

Andrew has taught as a graduate student instructor at the University of Michigan and an adjunct instructor at Wayne State University Law School. He maintains an active pro bono practice, having successfully represented clients in asylum proceedings, criminal appeals, and veterans' disability appeals. And he remains active in his community, having served as a member of the Michigan State Bar's U.S. Courts Committee, a member of the board of trustees and an elder at his church, and a coach in a local youth soccer league.

Before joining Jones Day, Andrew served as a judicial clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
