Qian Hu advises financial institutions, investment funds, and corporations on the regulatory and transactional aspects of complex OTC (over-the-counter) derivatives, structured repos, securities lending transactions, and investment products. She has strong experience in equity derivatives, including strategic acquisition, disinvestment, hedging, share buyback transactions, portage, shareholding financing or refinancing, as well as equity-linked securities. She has handled several high-profile cross-border strategic equity transactions. Qian is also active in ESG (environmental, social, and governance) derivatives, renewable energy credits trading, VPPAs (virtual power purchase agreements) negotiations, structured credit derivatives, and synthetic securitization.
Qian also advises on financial debt restructuring matters.
Qian is ranked Band 1 by Chambers France (2025).
Before joining Jones Day, Qian practiced in the Paris, London, and Beijing offices of a major French law firm. During her time in Beijing, she advised numerous French clients in their negotiations with Chinese authorities. In addition, she assisted several French clients in the creation of joint ventures and in handling prelitigation matters with Chinese partners.
