Dr. Martin Kock represents clients in domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions. For more than 25 years clients have turned to Martin for his ability to efficiently find and negotiate attractive commercial solutions for complex legal issues.

Martin advised European Bank for Financial Services (ebase), a leading German business to business (B2B) direct bank, with the acquisition of the complete securities business of Augsburger Aktienbank AG. He also advised ebase and the former DAB Bank AG in connection with their takeover by foreign acquirers. Martin assisted institutional investors, including DAB Bank AG, Deutsche Telekom, Entrepreneurs Fund, Prime Ventures, and XAnge Private Equity, with respect to the acquisition and sale of portfolio companies. Martin advises U.S. companies, including Electronic Theatre Controls, a global leader in the design and manufacture of lighting products, in compliance and commercial matters.

Martin has significant experience in the area of cross-border compliance investigations and recently was one of the leaders of a large multinational cross-border investigation in connection with proceedings initiated by U.S. and German regulatory and law enforcement authorities.

In 1998, Martin became managing partner of the Hong Kong office of a leading German law firm. In 2002, he was one of the founding partners of the first German office of another U.S. law firm. He is a member of the German-American Lawyers' Association and the German Institute for Arbitration.
