Justin Rattey represents clients in complex civil litigation and government investigation matters, including mass torts, multidistrict ligation, and Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) litigation. He has experience with many aspects of litigation, including offensive and defensive discovery, fact investigation, drafting briefs and motions, managing expert witnesses, and legal research.

Justin's litigation experience includes defending international banks in cases raising complex jurisdictional and discovery-related questions. He also represents companies in a wide array of contract and tort claims in federal and state courts.

Justin's government investigation experience includes assisting companies with responding to civil investigative demands issued by federal agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Justin also maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing clients seeking asylum.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Justin served as a judicial law clerk to Judge John F. Kness on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. While in law school, Justin worked as a research assistant to Dean William M. Treanor and Professor Carlos M. Vázquez and assisted clients in the Civil Litigation Clinic.
