Jones Day's Nia Ballard among The National Black Lawyers "Top 40 Under 40" in Texas

Nia Ballard, an associate in the Firm's Financial Markets Practice in the Houston Office, is included in The National Black Lawyers' list of "Top 40 Under 40" lawyers in the State of Texas. This recognition is given to Black lawyers in Texas who have earned reputations for excellence in their respective practice areas.

Ms. Ballard represents clients in complex commercial litigation before federal and state courts, including claims arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). She recently sought and was granted a judgment in defense of a client who was sued based on alleged FCRA violations. The consumer plaintiff brought eight separate lawsuits against the client and each of the matters were dismissed with prejudice in the client's favor.

Ms. Ballard maintains an active pro bono practice that includes representing individuals seeking asylum in the United States.
