SHARYL REISMAN | WORK AND FAMILY
“I often get asked by lawyers if it is possible to have a successful, challenging, satisfying career and still have a life outside of work, and my answer is always the same - a resounding yes."
YVETTE MCGEE BROWN - BUILDING A LEGACY
RASHA GERGES SHIELDS | INVESTING IN LAWYERS
Jones Day invests in lawyers long term. They don't focus on the business that you bring in today but on training and development that can make you grow for years to come.
As an associate, I worked with certain partners that allowed me to argue before the Supreme Court. It could have been easy for another partner to say I've never done that, so I want to do it. But they invested in me and gave me the opportunity.

ANN ROSSUM | MYTH FOR JUNIOR ASSOCIATES
HELEN SCOTT | FLEXIBILITY
Before I joined Jones Day in 2013, I hadn’t really considered a career in employment law but because of the flexible training system, I had the opportunity to try new work and I was immediately fascinated by it. I joined the Labor & Employment practice.
The Employment practice at Jones Day London is relatively unusual in that it’s very broad so we advise our clients on huge multi-jurisdictional cross border deals as well as guide them through day-to-day issues and we represent them before the Employment Tribunal. That makes me a better lawyer because I have a full insight into our client’s needs and it means that I have developed a broad spectrum of skills.
