John Brinkerhoff focuses his practice on appellate and crucial motion advocacy. He has briefed and secured favorable outcomes for clients in high-stakes litigation at every level of the federal judiciary.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, John served as a law clerk to Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. of the United States Supreme Court. He also served as a law clerk in the U.S. Courts of Appeals to Judge Gregory G. Katsas of the D.C. Circuit, Chief Judge William H. Pryor Jr. of the Eleventh Circuit, and Judge Diane S. Sykes of the Seventh Circuit. Between clerkships, John worked at an international law firm where he handled appeals and complex civil litigation.
