Dustin Lorenzo focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts across a variety of industries. He has particular experience defending clients in the health care industry facing qui tam claims under the False Claims Act (FCA) and state equivalents, including matters involving the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS). He also has experience defending a financial institution trustee in significant cases brought by investors in residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS).
Dustin services clients at every stage of litigation. He has experience with pretrial discovery and has served as the lead drafter of numerous dispositive motions and other critical motions at the trial stage. He has also played a significant role in drafting appellate briefs for clients across multiple federal courts of appeals, often working with lawyers across offices in the Firm's Issues & Appeals Practice. Dustin also maintains an active pro bono practice, including working with a team representing a client on direct appeal of a federal criminal conviction.
Before joining Jones Day, Dustin served as a judicial law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
