Savannah Melton assists employers with a range of employment issues, including advising on and defending employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, restrictive covenant, and wage and hour matters. Savannah is a strategic, goals-driven advocate who understands the importance of working with employers toward their individual business needs, philosophies, and long-term goals. She collaborates with clients to prevent, mitigate, and manage legal risk throughout the different aspects of each client's business.

Savannah has extensive experience conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, handling offensive and defensive written discovery, developing case strategy, and preparing for depositions. She has represented and advised clients across all stages of employment litigation, from drafting the initial policies and agreements to defending active litigation. Savannah enjoys working with clients to identify potential legal and practical risks and strategize how best to address these risks given the particular client's holistic goals.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2023, Savannah was an associate at another prominent law firm where she defended employment litigation and advised clients regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws. She also presented and wrote on employment issues, including the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic and practical considerations for employers to keep in mind when responding to the various difficulties presented by the pandemic.
