Brett Bell represents corporate clients in complex antitrust, consumer protection, and shareholder lawsuits and in actions involving torts and breach of contract. He has litigated cases (including class actions) in state and federal courts across the country and has represented clients in government and criminal investigations.
Brett is an experienced antitrust litigator. He has defended U.S. and international clients in cases involving allegations of price-fixing, bid rigging, and monopolization, both in civil actions and in investigations brought by the Department of Justice. The antitrust clients he serves include companies in the automotive, technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and health care industries.
Brett also has substantial experience defending clients in securities and shareholder derivative lawsuits. He has defended Fortune 500 companies in state and federal lawsuits seeking to enjoin public company mergers and in lawsuits alleging securities fraud or breaches of fiduciary duties.
Brett also has won dismissal at the pleading stage of several consumer class actions involving product labeling and allegedly defective products and successfully defended those victories on appeal.
Brett is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) and presents an annual CLE course on the Rule Against Hearsay during the OSBA's Trial Evidence for the Ohio Practitioner seminar. He maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented multiple clients in asylum proceedings before U.S. immigration courts. Brett also serves on the board of Youth Opportunities Unlimited, an organization dedicated to helping teens and young adults become economically self-sufficient contributors to Northeast Ohio's workforce through educational, career coaching, and workforce development programs.
